Since 1981 are we, Roos and Liam Liem, serving authentic Indonesian food in the center of Amsterdam. Restaurant Selecta is close to the floating Flower Market and the Mint Tower. In a relaxed setting, we tend to recall the long-gone ‘Tempo Doeloe’ ambiance of Indonesia.

We shall welcome you very heartily, while hosting you either lunch or dinner, to your choice.

Interior

For our century of innovation, the widely known architect, Henk Vos, recently re-styled Restaurant Selecta tastefully with a stylish interior, but where the traditional Indonesian spirit remains reminiscent.

Henk Vos, an internationally celebrated architect/designer, is inspired by the two cultures of his personal existence and combined the Indonesian landscape and traditions with Delft Blue tiles of a century ago.

The ground floor seats 100 guests in the Java room with its cultural perspectives and street view. For private groups or meetings and business presentations, we have the Bali room upstairs, seating 80 people.

According to your wishes, we also arrange an Indonesian buffet, accompanied by traditional music.

Menu

Of the 4 different Rijsttafel menus, we specially recommend the Selecta Rijsttafel, which as usual, serves several traditional dishes to taste. The famous saté’s are part of the sampling.

All these dishes are also available á la carte. Your personal diet wishes will be attended to, please mention this when you make a reservation.

Groups

According to your wishes, we arrange tables from 2 to 20 persons, considering your program and time schedule. We offer 180 seats divided over our 2 halls. Group tariffs depend on your choice of menu.

Tour coaches can stop in front of our door to drop-off/pick-up your guests. Coach parking is within walking distance at the Heineken brewery or at the Q-parking for coaches, under Museum Square (route>>).

Catering

Restaurant Selecta is equipped to cater at your company, your private home, or any other location. Our years of experience guarantee a traditional presentation fitting an appropriate décor.

In deliberation with you, we create a tailor-made concept with a good price/quality ratio.
